Once Again we have the opportunity to recognize Arrowmen for their outstanding service to their unit, district council, and lodge.
The Order of the Arrow recognizes those Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the spirit of the Boy Scouts and the Scouting Program. Within the Order, there are also ways to recognize those Arrowmen who best live up to the ideals of the Order. The highest honor our lodge can bestow upon one of its members is the Vigil Honor. This recognition is not something one can work towards; instead, Vigils are chosen because others have noticed the work and diligence they have shown for the Order of the Arrow, Pellissippi Lodge, the Great Smoky Mountain Council, and the Boy Scouts of America. . If there is an Arrowman you feel deserves this Honor, now is your chance to let it be known.
To be qualified, a candidate must be a registered member of Boy Scouts of America, a registered member of the Pellissippi Lodge, and must have been a Brotherhood member for at least 2 years.
Any Lodge member of any Level may nominate candidates for the Vigil Honor; candidates will be selected from the nominees by the Vigil Honor Selection Committee.
Lodge members can complete this form, especially the "What about this person makes them worthy of being recognized for exceptional service with the Vigil Honor?". This explanation is important to the voting process.
